I gave up on this book when the brother wound up not being dead. It was too much, after everything else that was happening. It ruined all the poignancy of the story - and I was very heartbroken for poor Jonas. The story started out cute, but the author should have left the brother dead. I also don't understand why he had to be gay as well, and why this wasn't already known given how close the two brothers were. It could have been a cute story, but everything was too perfect and easy (except for the poor manservant who was left heartbrkoken for no good reason at all; he didn't even need to be in the story).
